Sunflowers-Simple Pleasures

So glad to be able to post a simple pleasure this week. I've been working hard on something lately so it's nice to slow down and just see. Sunday night, the Other Nut brought me some sunflowers. They are so pretty and brighten my day when I look at them. They are on my kitchen table, often times with my napkin holder and wooden container that holds my salt and pepper shaker. Everytime I look at my table, I find myself smiling; I love the combination of the colors and textures. It just makes me stop and take it in, enough to sit and take a lot of pictures of it. It's a simple pleasure that I am thoroughly enjoying right now.

Funny how alike we are! I have sunflowers in baskets (not real unfortunately) on top of my kitchen cabinets because I love how cheery they make the kitchen look.

I also sent my husband a vase of them at his office for our anniversary this year. It was to remind him that I'm his sunshine girl.. the sunflower's sort of become my little symbol but the rose is still my favourite flower. though)

I think sunflowers are the happiest flower of all. I particularly love a field of them. They usually plant one along my country commute, but this year, the field is empty. Shucks...

Lisa Maria-I know! Isn't it fun to find someone that you are so alike, and yet we live so far away. I've said that to the Other Nut.
I love that the sunflower is your symbol to remind him that you are his sunshine girl-that is so cute and romantic. I just painted a picture of sunflowers-I'll put it on a post, but I'm not a painter (that's my disclaimer) :)

Thanks Trish. Glad you stopped by.

Debbie-they are really happy. Sorry about the empty field. That's a bummer, because I bet that is a beautiful thing to see. My first blog (that I never even posted on, but thought I would start one) was called "A field full of sonflowers" or "becoming sonflowers"-I can't remember. Oh well-it was something about sunflowers.

Thank you Kathleen-glad you stopped by to see my sunflowers. They are definitely lovely. Well, they were lovely-they have since died, but I have a picture of them.

Anna-so glad they made you smile. I'll be catching up on my reading soon so see you at your blog.

Hi Barb-thanks for stopping by from Australia. Oh I bet it is lovely there! And you are right-sunflowers are perfect kitchen flowers. There is just something about them in the kitchen-just so inviting and cheery.

Lisa Maria-I forgot to say that was a great article. Thanks for sending it-I didn't know they could do that. That is pretty cool. What a great way to clean up something so tragic.
